The retarded browser / Home

I started to write this post full of malice against IE6 but realised I was only reciting what many already know and suffered. If your of the ignorant persuasion and are still using IE6, no doubt you are having difficulty viewing this site and I have no sympathy for you. Why, you ask? Well it is a dated piece of software – I like to think of it more as a pile of miscellaneous code that miraculously functions to have a purpose – that is plagued with issues and bugs, more like Paris Hilton. Yes, the Paris Hilton of web browsers. Why anyone actually pays attention to her still is well beyond me, I mean sure she’s rich and well known but the scandal after scandal just dishonors the family (ie. Microsoft). She tries to be fancy but you don’t have to wait long until she trips on her own two feet again and everyone begins to laugh and ridicule her yet she still is there, why? I could go on and on but we get the point, move away from Paris Hilton *cough* I mean IE6 and regain your dignity.

Ok now that’s out of my system I can focus more on bashing IE(Internet Explorer) in general. IE7 was a big step up but that’s like a fat kid who managed to take a few extra steps up the stairs then his older brother but still a long way from the top. IE8, which I once touched then the first beta came out – which fell down the fucking stairs! – was a joke and wanted to slap my head in wake that Microsoft missed the point. Well I got my hands on the Windows 7 beta which happens to have beta 2 of said browser and was relieved that it actually worked. It would be a great browser if it came out say… 3 years ago, but it didn’t. So now we have a new browser from said company which it’s only real competitor existed years ago and has advanced substantially. I mean it is so slow just loading pages but in a world where javascript is increasing is use and complexity stagnates to be usable. Take the fireflies on this site (I am pretty proud of them), in Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari runs the animation quick and smoothly and is quite pleasant, but that bitch of a browser [IE7 and IE8] drops the ball and make it all choppy. This isn’t just for me but my experiences using it with Facebook and Gmail and yet people think of this as acceptable? Wake the fuck up and ditch that shit.

I personally think Microsoft should abandon it’s efforts and do away with the retarded browser and apologise to the world after. But they won’t do that, that’s silly silly silly. So I have another idea which is much more feasible and it’s simple. Take a decent rendering engine such as Webkit or Gecko and build IE on top of it and release it. Simple huh? The hard work is done thanks to efforts put to make a working rendering engine which also focuses on standards compliance and all you have to do is affix a brand name such as “Microsoft® Internet Explorer™ Advanced Experience Edition with Security Boss™ protection” and voila!
